Probiotics: effective prevention of intestinal discomfort

Probiotic cultures of bacteria or friendly microorganisms help to maintain healthy microflora in the human digestive tract. This is important for proper digestion and good immunity. Probiotics prevent the propagation of pathogenic microorganisms, especially bacteria and fungi (Candida albicans), in the intestinal tract and throughout the body. The best-known probiotic cultures include lactobacilli, bifidobacteria and lactococci. In addition to maintaining healthy intestinal microflora and promoting immunity, they also play a role in preventing cancer and food allergies.

To keep probiotic bacteria active in the digestive tract, they need “prebiotics” for their growth and proliferation. These are essentially food ingredients that are not digestible by humans, such as plant cellulose, fibre, and inulin. Therefore, any quality probiotic must also contain prebiotics, as is the case with Energy Probiosan and Probiosan Inovum.

Help in conventional treatment

We have probably all experienced a situation where we have had to take antibiotics or draw on some sort of antibacterial chemotherapy. Frequent undesirable side effects (especially of the more aggressive, broad-range types) are intestinal microbial imbalance and the occurrence of “intestinal dysbiosis”, caused by the proliferation of pathogenic microorganisms in the large intestine. This is manifested by diarrhoea, a bloated feeling, cramps and abdominal pain. In addition, nutrient absorption is disrupted, there is excessive fluid loss, toxins produced by pathogenic bacteria enter the blood stream, immunity is impaired, and yeast (the Candida fungus) multiplies in the gut.

Probiotic products provide effective prevention against this condition. They have a preventive (protective) effect before intestinal dysbiosis occurs (and therefore it is advisable to administer them with antibiotic treatment), and also help to repair damage to intestinal microflora resulting from antibiotic treatment. Ideally, however, we should start taking probiotic complexes before or concurrently with antibiotic treatment. It is necessary to maintain an interval between the use of the drug and the probiotic product of at least two to four hours. This will protect or restore natural intestinal microflora, physiological digestion and good immunity. Probiotics, especially complexes of probiotic cultures, together with prebiotics or other natural ingredients, have proven positive effects on human health, boost immunity and prevent many diseases.

Probiotic Energy products

Probiosan

Contains probiotic cultures of Lactobacillus acidophilus and Enterococcus faecium, the prebiotic component inulin and the emerald green algae Chlorella. Suitable for the prevention of intestinal discomfort and “traveller’s diarrhoea”, and ideal as a supplement during antibiotic treatment, when it protects and restores friendly intestinal microflora. Promotes immunity, and prevents the formation of cancer cells, allergies, and inflammations. Usually taken as 1 capsule 1-3 times a day.

Probiosan Inovum

Contains ten probiotic cultures of friendly bacteria: Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium bifidum, breve and longum, some other strains of lactobacilli – casei, rhamnosus, plantarum, bulgaricus, and the beneficial Lactococcus lactis and Streptococcus thermophilus. Probiosan Inovum has a positive effect not only the intestinal system, but also on overall health by boosting the immune system because it contains other health benefits.

The polysaccharide inulin is a prebiotic needed to nourish friendly bacteria, whose enzymes can digest it and gain a source of energy for reproduction and growth. As the human organism cannot decompose or absorb it, it is used as an insoluble fibre in the cleansing, promotion of intestinal peristalsis and emptying of the colon. Despite its sweet taste, it has almost zero calories and does not increase blood sugar.

Main sources of inulin are plants, algae, vegetables – chicory, artichokes, onions, and garlic. Probiosan Inovum also contains oyster mushroom beta-glucans, which are essentially biologically active polysaccharides that significantly enhance the immune system, especially the non-specific immune system of macrophages. This is important in the prevention of viral, bacterial, yeast and parasitic infections. Beta-glucans are also used in the prevention and treatment of cancer and, as they are powerful antioxidants, they protect the organism from free radicals and harmful radiation. Another product ingredient is colostrum, i.e. the first thick milk that is formed in the mammary glands of mammals shortly before and a few days after giving birth. It contains a number of important substances needed for perfect immunity, concentrated immune factors, natural growth factors, vitamins and minerals, thus supporting the proper functioning of muscles, nerves, and bones. It improves healing, helps to balance blood sugar, burn fat, and prevent pain, allergies and various inflammations in the body, and protects the digestive tract from intestinal dysbiosis. Probiosan Inovum is usually taken as 1 capsule 2-3 times a day. Ample fluid intake is advised.
