...or How long will you keep sweeping it under the carpet?



If you lived in a clean environment, drank clean water, ate only the food you grew yourself, and your thoughts were pure sweetness and light, I would tell you there was no need to worry about detoxification. While its true our bodies generate toxic substances no matter how healthy our lifestyles are, they can cope and are able to get rid of such substances. This is what our livers do: they filter blood and can develop “liver fever” to burn harmful substances. When temperatures rise the liver starts producing antibodies against the specific pathogens with which we come into contact. OUR BODIES CAN CLEAN THEMSELVES
Our bodies are smarter than we think. The body simply cannot allow toxic substances to circulate through its vital organs, and that is why it cleans up any mess.

However, if it fails somehow, waste substances are swept under the carpet and stored in places it considers less important.
For example, heavy metals are deposited in adipose tissue, which could be one reason for the body refusing to burn off body fat, as it would result in releasing all that contamination into the blood. Other waste substances are stored in the joints (uric acid) and ligaments, others become encapsulated to form cysts. The body makes waste dumps inside itself if there is not time to properly clean up, and as soon as the body gets the time to finally do the work, it shows real zeal. But as we know, time is always in short supply.

COSTLY DETOXIFICATION METHODS
The following methods for detoxifying our bodies require us to be more or less strong-willed, and indeed it is the only requirement we need. Strong will is the only currency we can use to “buy” time for our bodies to detoxify.

1. Intermittent fasting, etc.
If you manage not to eat for at least 17 hours between meals, you support your body’s natural ability to self-restore, which the experts call autophagy. Autophagy is a very complex mechanism, refined by evolution, through which the body maintains stable conditions by breaking down its own redundant or damaged components. Japanese scientist Yoshinori Ohsumi was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine in 2016 for his research into the autophagy process. Owing to autophagy, our bodies can recycle huge amounts of amino acids and save a lot of work and building materials that would otherwise be necessary to obtain from food. Autophagy is a very sophisticated win-win strategy, during which damaged cells are cleaned away and then [what kind of material?] material is used to build new ones. Autophagyexplains why fasting does not necessarily cause you to lose muscle, and why food which is not rich in proteins isn’t necessarily harmful to the body. Autophagy can be stimulated in ways other than fasting: it can be supported through calorie restriction (you simply eat less), short-term intensive training (HIIT – high intensity interval training), and by curcumin found in turmeric roots. All the above mentioned methods for supporting bodily self-restoration are reliable factors in the promotion of longevity, therefore it is definitely good for you to avoid eating to excess, engage in fasting from time to time, train regularly and love curry.

2. Hardening, or the flowing of energy between fire and water
The sauna is an ancient detoxification method, during which waste substances leave the body through increased perspiration. Of course, this can also be achieved under your blankets, which is one of the truly effective methods of curing various viral diseases. The combined effects of heat and cold, in general, support energy flow in your body and overall immunity. However, not many people know that we can achieve results similar to using a sauna by “hardening” in cold water. When the temperature drops, our thermoregulation mechanisms start to generate heat. Energy starts to flow, useless and toxic substances are released, and in addition, as a reward for being willing to step outside your comfort zone, you get a huge dose of endorphins, which makes you feel happy whether you want to or not.

3. The Wim Hof breathing method
This special breathing technique can make the blood more alkaline and, as proven by subsequent scientific studies, it can eliminate unwanted microorganisms and their toxic products in your body. Although this method is simple and not very time demanding, in my experience people are willing to spend time on themselves only when desperation takes hold.
